
Katherine DeSilva is an Ipswich native that enjoys creating stories through quilting and illustration. She is a licensed Massachusetts Visual Art and Special Education teacher. She currently teaches special education English and studio art at the high school level. When not teaching, she works to create objects and narratives that are personal and explore life on the North Shore and as a single mother with a disability.
Katherine is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Katherine began her artist journey as a painter and then as graphic designer. Although Katherine started her career working in two dimensions, she also enjoys working with fabric, creating quilts and quilted decorative items. Katherine is an illustrator of multiple children's books that take place on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
