Priya Bangal

Priya Bangal is a dancer of Odissi, a classical dance style from the state of Odisha, India. Priya is a recipient of the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship awarded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and has performed at various venues in the Boston Area such as the Boston Center for the Arts, Jose Mateo Ballet Theater, and the Dance Complex. Her recent work at NACHMO Boston 2022 was described by the Dance Informa magazine as having “an easeful quality” and “beautiful intricacy”. Priya has co-founded Samvād, a forum that facilitates informal interaction between dancers and musicians in the Boston area. Priya is currently training Odissi under her mentor Shipra Mehrotra in Norfolk, MA.
