Brentano String Quartet with Dawn Upshaw, soprano

Co-commissioned by Rockport Music, this program starts with early English works and will flow toward the famous Lament from Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas. Composed by Melinda Wagner and with a libretto by Stephanie Fleischmann, this unique monodrama will probe a truly compelling character through the concentrated closeness of the chamber music experience.
