Ireland, America and Writing Poetry, March 10, 2022, 7 p.m.
On March 10, 2022, the Emma Andrews Library and Community Center, Newburyport, MA, will host a virtual event, “Ireland, America and Writing Poetry.”
The night will feature local Irish-American poets Ellie O’Leary, poet laureate of Amesbury, MA, and Anne Mulvey, a member of the Powwow River Poets and professor emerita, UMass Lowell.
Irish-born author Áine Greaney, a native of County Mayo, will host the event.
The writers will talk about writing, childhood and Irish-American family influences, and how that identity plays out within the larger, multicultural America.
They will also focus on the link between family heritage and their creative writing.
The night will conclude with a Q & A and each writer offering advice for new or beginner writers.
Learn more about the event at the Library’s website. Or email: Emmaandrewslibrary@gmail.com. The event is free.
