Light and Shadow in Drawing with Jon Bolles 3-day workshop
oin North Shore painter Jon Bolles in a 3-day workshop that will focus on “value” – the sensation of light and shadow in pictorial art.
Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and leave your nice clothes at home! We will be using a variety of types of charcoal in these workshops, and it can get a little messy.
When: January 25, 26, 27, 10 AM-2:30 PM each day
Where: The Cultural Center at Rocky Neck (6 Wonson Street, Gloucester)
Materials List: If you don’t have any of these supplies, email RNAC.workshops@gmail.com, and we’ll be sure to have plenty for you to use in the class.
Materials:
•Drawing board
•Loose 18” x 24” drawing paper (drawing pads are fine)
•Pencil for measuring angles
•Willow charcoal
•Vine charcoal
•Compressed charcoal
•Gum eraser
•Kneaded eraser
•Fixative (workable or final)
•(optional) Artist chamois (paper towel can also be used)
•(optional) small soft paintbrush, for dusting eraser marks
