Pen and Ink Techniques

Pen and Ink Techniques

Use nature as the springboard for black-and-while and colored drawings.

About this event

Using natural objects, learn how to create depth using drawing pens. Different techniques of shadowing will be introduced. Students will spend time with their object to capture detail and dimension. Drawing with pen and ink gives very satisfying results in black and white. It can also be combined with colored pencil and watercolor to create interesting mixed media artwork.

Materials needed for class:

Drawing pens: choice of separate pen with inkwell or straight drawing pens (Pigma Micron by Sakura recommended) – have at least 3 size nibs or 3 widths (fine, thick, medium range)

Spiralbound sketchbook (6” x 8” – 8”x10”)
