“RADIANT THRIVING: BOLD WRITING FOR BOUNDLESS ARTISTS” W/ DIANA ALVAREZ

“RADIANT THRIVING: BOLD WRITING FOR BOUNDLESS ARTISTS” W/ DIANA ALVAREZ
Wednesdays, March 8 & 15, 2023 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (in Zoom)
Presented in partnership with the Greater Worcester Community Foundation.
This is a 2-part series. Artists are asked to attend both sessions.
As artists, we are called to draft artist bios and statements, project proposals, blurbs, email inquiries, grant applications, and more to build a thriving career. In this workshop, participants will practice developing a radiant, bold, unapologetic writing voice that centers their values and identities. Artists will build individual language styles to align with their unique arts practice. We will review writing templates from a range of disciplines, and share tools and resources for refining our bold writing as boundless artists. Part 1 will focus on artist statements. Part 2 will build on the language developed in Part 1 to address writing project proposals and cold inquiries. A limited number of 1-on-1 consultations with the instructor will be available after the workshop. Doctora Xingona Diana Alvarez is an expansive multimedia artist and educator, Doctora Xingona’s music, poetry, performances, films, and gatherings center transcendence, kinship, and the co-liberation and nourishment of queer and trans artists of color.
Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 25 live participants max.
