Unearthing Rocky Neck Narratives
On Saturday, September 24 from 2-5 PM, printmakers and conceptual artists Hugo Pellinen and Stacy Thomas-Vickory will demonstrate printing “Earth Narratives” of Rocky Neck. Prints will be available for purchase on site. Light refreshments will be served. Drop in anytime!
2PM Meet at the Cultural Center for brief artists’ talk
2:20 PM Procession to 2 spots on Rocky Neck to unearth plates with the artists
3:00ish PM Pellinen and Thomas-Vickory begin making prints from the unearthed plates, Landowne will lead visitors in interactive engagement with the artworks
4:00 PM Nikki Joshi performs her original composition based on one of the plates
Printing and print sales continue until 5PM
This program is offered in conjunction with the special exhibition Land, Mark, curated by Ginger Myhaver and featuring New York-based painter and printmaker Beatrice Modisett, the printmakers/conceptual artists Stacy Thomas-Vickory and Hugo Pellinen of Beverly and Salem, sculptor/mixed-media artist Caroline Bagenal of Newburyport, and interdisciplinary artist and creative technologist Sarah Trahan, now based in Vejle, Denmark.
