A celebration of performing and visual arts in Lawrence, MA
On July 9, 2022, 11 AM to 8 PM at 50 Island Street, The Lawrence Festival of the Arts will host a performing and visual arts festival for the community of Lawrence and surrounding areas. After two years of isolation due to covid, this event provides an opportunity for the community to celebrate the arts and artists.
Festival-goers will enjoy music, theater, dance, poetry, and more. Artists and artisans from Lawrence and beyond will be able to share their unique gifts and talents with all who attend. For the young ones, there will be a “Kids Zone” where they can enjoy games, face painting, and photos with “Elsa and Anna.”
“Two things the pandemic has shown are how disconnected we had become and how much we need the arts.” said Lisa Miller-Gillespie, president. “We want to take a moment to uplift, celebrate and enjoy the arts together.”
Being able to partner with artists and organizations in the city such as Movement City, Northern Essex Community College, the Lawrence Police Department, and many others makes this a true community event.
The Lawrence Festival of the Arts has been supported by organizations such as the Essex County Community Foundation’s Creative County Initiative, the Mass Cultural Council, and the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center to name a few.

About Lawrence Festival of the Arts
The mission of the Lawrence Festival of the Arts is to provide an opportunity for various community theaters, artists, and organizations as well as students to perform various works in an open-air space. It is an opportunity for the community to become more aware of and involved with local arts organizations for those organizations to reach out more to the community. The festival will also enable students to work with performers at various levels in the arts.

Una celebración de las artes escénicas y visuales en Lawrence, MA
El día 9 de Julio 2022 de 11AM hasta las 8PM en el 50 Island Street, el Festival de las Artes de Lawrence será el anfitrión de un festival que celebra las artes escénicas y visuales en muchos sus diversos formatos con artistas de la ciudad de Lawrence y áreas aledañas. Después de dos años de aislamiento debido al covid, este evento le provee la oportunidad a la comunidad de celebrar las artes, los artistas y las diversas culturas.
Los asistentes al festival disfrutarán de música, teatro, baile, poesía y más. Artistas y artesanos de Lawrence y más allá, podrán compartir sus habilidades únicas y sus talentos con todos. Para los pequeños habrá una “Zona Infantil” en donde ellos podrán disfrutar de juegos, diseños de pintura en la cara y fotos con “Elsa y Anna”.
“Dos cosas que la pandemia nos ha mostrado es lo desconectados que estamos y cuánto necesitamos a las artes” dijo Lisa Miller-Gillespie, presidente. “Queremos tomar un momento para realzar, celebrar y disfrutar de las artes juntos.”
El poder formar alianzas con artistas y organizaciones en la ciudad tales como Movement City, Northern Essex Community College y el Departamento de la Policía de Lawrence y muchos más, hace de esto un verdadero evento comunitario
La iniciativa Creative County (el Condado Creativo) del Essex County Community Foundation, el Mass Cultural Council (el Consejo Cultural de Massachusetts) y el Greater Lawrence Family Health Center son una parte de las organizaciones que están patrocinando al Festival de la Artes en Lawrence para hacer de este un evento gratuito que sirve no solo para elevar las artes pero también para unir esta hermosa comunidad.

La misión del Festival de las Artes en Lawrence es proveer una oportunidad para varios teatros comunitarios, artistas y organizaciones al igual que para los estudiantes de poder presentar varias obras en un espacio al aire libre.
