About
Founded in 2003 by concerned residents and artists from Groveland, Merrimac, & West Newbury, the Pentucket Arts Foundation is a non-profit 501 c 3 organization with well-established roots within the three communities. We’re dedicated to using the transformative power of the arts to help make the Tri-Town Pentucket Region more creative and vibrant places in which to live, work, learn and be inspired. We believe that all artists need audiences; that creative thinking leads to a better future; and that creative placemaking will help to physically, socially, and economically strengthen our communities. Led by an all-volunteer, 12-member Board of Directors that meets monthly, we offer opportunities for people of all ages to be enriched through cultural arts experiences. We’ve provided over $220,000 towards a large portfolio of events and programming such as a night of high energy singing at our annual A Cappella Night held at the PRHS each November and our Makers Market where local artists and artisans sell amazing sustainable creations just in time for holiday giving at Veasey Park in Groveland each December. We delight in partnering with local farms to celebrate the nexus of Arts and Agriculture –, such as our Fairytale Hayride at Long Hill Orchard each spring and Terror Trail at the historic Maple Crest Farm just in time for Halloween. Our Arts Connecting Community Grant funds public art projects run by artists– such as a Tri-Town Tape Art Festival in 2019; our Voices of West Newbury docu-film for that town’s Bicentennial; and our Natural Restoration pandemic mural project, currently ongoing in the three district towns. We have provided over $90,000 in art-related educational grants and scholarships for Pentucket District students and teachers. And when required, we advocate on behalf of the arts to Town, School, and State leaders.
